Who are we?

Set in the Grade II Listed Grand Assembly Rooms on King’s Walk, Culture Lab houses magnificently refurbished open-plan research spaces, a "live events" space, and dedicated electronics, multimedia and sound workshop spaces.

Culture Lab is the first building to be completed in the University led Cultural Quarter, a bold new vision developed with a wide-ranging partnership of local bodies. This will transform the space between the City and the University into an exciting and vibrant area of cultural and social activity including a new museum complex, the refurbished Northern Stage theatre, a music performance space and the Northern Writers’ Centre: a major contribution to the region's cultural strategy.
